Chris Akers is New Managing Director for Titan Steel Wheels

The Board of Titan Europe Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Akers to the role of Managing Director of its UK subsidiary, Titan Steel Wheels Limited. Chris replaces Dave Young, who retires after more than 40 years with the group although he will remain as consultant to Titan Europe and Honorary Chairman of the Titan Steel Wheels Board of Directors.

Chris (aged 41) takes on the role after a year as Titan Steel Wheels’ Manufacturing Director. During his tenure, when he held responsibility for Titan’s UK earthmover wheel facility, the Company saw productivity increase by 20%, with record turnover and profit performance.

Prior to joining Titan Steel Wheels, Chris, who holds an Engineering degree and MBA, held a variety of roles with Ford Motor Company. He joined in 1997 as a production supervisor at the Halewood Assembly Plant, moving through the ranks including a spell in Michigan, US, reaching the position of Assembly Operations Manager for Land Rover in Solihull in 2006.
